VI Series Tournament #1: February 11th
The Vancouver Island Series of tournaments was created to help develop a foundation for all of our grass root and competitive players with a variety of skills. It is meant to be a 'B' level tournaments for kids who need and want tournament experience but are not among the top ranked junior players. Badminton Victoria is very excited to be hosting the first VI Series event of the year, happening on February 11th. This one day tournament is an IDEAL tournament for local players who haven't played in tournaments before, as it is a fun atmosphere with lots of prizes! The entry form can be found here. 2012 Seattle Open
The Bellevue Badminton Club in Washington State is hosting a tournament from Feb 10th-12th. There are two tiers A and BCD. The players in A will be competing for cash prizes while those in BCD will be competing for Yonex racquets. It is a great opportunity to play with players from Canada, California, and Oregon.

2011 MURIEL KNOTT CLASSIC (NOV 21-27)
The Muriel Knott Classic Tournament will be held at Brentwood and Cordova Bay from Nov 21-27. For the Handicap and Veterans events the cost is $15/Event per person. For the Open, it is $20 for the first event and $15 each for the 2nd and 3rd events. You will also need to purchase a Badminton BC membership for the year or that lasts for one tournament if you aren't a member. The entry deadline is Nov 16th. TIME CHANGE FOR OCT 29TH YOUTH DROP-IN AT BRENTWOOD
On Saturday Oct 29th the youth recreational doubles play at the Brentwood Community Club will be from 3 - 5pm, otherwise it will be from 11:30-1:30. The cost is $3. 2012 BC WINTER GAMES TRIALS
Zone 6 Trials for the BC Winter Games will be taking place on Dec 17th. All interested athletes must be between the ages of 12 and 13. Entry deadline is Dec 11th. For more details see the entry form below (in various formats).

2011 Junior Competitive Summer Camp
The Junior Competitive Summer Camp will be help at Brentwood Community Hall from Aug 2-5th. The camp costs $140 and is meant for juniors between the ages of 9 to 14.

Nanaimo Junior Badminton Tournament: Saturday, 2010-03-27 09:00 - 17:00
Mike Clark: This tournament will be hosted on March 27th in nanaimo, and will finish on the same day to allow all traveling players to return home the same day . The venue is still not guranteed, as there were several options i am just waiting for conformation on Wellington as that would be the best choice for proximity to food as well as amount of courts. Once the venue is finalized i will post the cost for each participant. The tournament is for junior players wishing to get a variety of play as we will try and ensure that all members get the most games possible. 2009/2010-WINTER

Thank you everyone for your patience for these forms. The new registration forms for the January to April term of Badminton Victoria programs have been published and registration is occurring right now! Please either email, mail, or bring your form with you (along with payment please!) to your first training session. Junior Competitive sessions and Competitive sessions begin Monday January 11th, and Hawks sessions begin Tuesday January 12th. 2009-FALL

Congratulationsto all players who participated in the Victoria Closed and Victoria Junior Recreational Open on November 6th and 7th. The event was very successful and a few players need mentioning. First of all, thank you to the Maple Ridge Secondary School team for bring a strong contingent to this year's tournament. They were very strong and received many top results! Also, on the adult side of things, Ayaka Wakatsuki won all three of her events and thus is the triple crown Victoria champion! Riley Trottier and Bryan Cassels also won two events each. 2009-SUMMER

2009-SPRING:

The 2009 Canadian Junior National Championships were held in Edmonton, Alberta on May 4-9, and Victoria sent a strong and large contingent of athletes this year for the first time in a long time. Badminton Victoria was represented by eleven athletes from U14 all the way up to U23, and consisted of Ethan Lee, Candice Ip, Helen Ip, Robbie Thomas, Christopher Wan, Sylvia Wan, Emily Chung, Vivian Yan, Bryan Cassels, Riley Trottier, and Jeremy C�t�. For most of us, it was an entirely new experience being at such a huge tournament in such a huge venue, and only having to play 2 matches a day! All the athletes performed admirably, with some notable finishes. Candice Ip performed extremely well, placed runner-up in U14 Girls Doubles with Eileen Wong and consolation winner in U14 Mixed Doubles with Haijun Liu. Sylvia Wan claimed the consolation winner title in U16 Girls Singles, and her and Emily Chung achieving consolation runner-up in U16 Girls Doubles. Coach Keith Anton was very happy with the play of all the athletes, and aside from losing his notebook on multiple occasions, he was mostly able to keep his sanity. Everyone who attended had an enjoyable time and are already looking forward to next year! Congratulations to all athletes! Full results can be found on the Badminton Alberta website.
